Motril is situated in the southern most part of the province of Granada, between the Sierra Nevada mountain range and the Mediterranean Sea.

Motril is only 45 minutes away from the capital town of Granada following the N-323 and the motorway. To get to Granada from other parts of Spain you can travel by plane, train, bus or car. However from Granada, Motril can only be reached by road.

Only 100 kilometres from Motril you will find the cosmopolitan Málaga, Seville is only three hours from here and Madrid is less than five hours journey away.

In this way, we can say that Motril´s privileged geographical location makes it a unique destination. Motril is centrally located at equal distances from the three capital cities of Granada (N323), Málaga and Almería (N340).

We have to mention the importance of the central maritime position of Motril´s port, it is also the only port of the province of Granada.
