In this extremely beautiful area it is possible to practise every imaginable type of sports thanks to its varied geography, a place where even the most adventurous of visitors can make their dreams come true. Ski in the Sierra Nevada mountain range within an hour and quarters drive from Motril and be swimming or sailing in the deep blue Mediterranean Sea both in the same day. Trekking or relaxed walking following the sign-posted routes, enjoying the scents of lavender and rosemary. Flying free like a bird observing from your own paraglide the spectacular scenery or horse riding or rock-climbing are just some of the options for an unforgettable holiday. As far as water sports are concerned, you can fish, go scuba diving, sailing, surf, windsurf, kite /fly surf, jet ski….

Motril is an ideal area for all types of sports and adventure activities, the possibilities really are endless.

Motril offers sailing enthusiasts the best conditions for the practise of this sport. Trade winds regularly blow and the wind channels offer ideal acceleration zones. For those who prefer easier sailing, the deep waters allow sailing near to the beaches and cliffs, ideal for discovering varied and appetising landscapes. Sailing boats can be hired or sea excursions organised in yachts through the Royal Yacht Club.

There are many other activities on offer such golf, horse riding, multi-adventure activities, etc.

Promoting quality tourism, we must not forget the magnificent “Los Moriscos” Golf Course, incomparable in its location on the seafront on the Granada Beach. The advantage of Motril compared to other tourist destinations is that you can play golf all year round, thanks to our wonderful mild climate. At the same time, the diversity of the landscapes allows golf to be played next to the sea with the sea breeze and views over to the Sierra Nevada, snow-topped during many months of the year, or if you prefer more inland surrounded by mountains. Many visitors come to Motril each year to play golf, mainly Spanish, English and German, in this unique area. Two further 18 hole golf courses will be added in a near future. There is a practice ground, social club and Caddies Masters service.

As well as open air sports, visitors can also take advantage of the magnificent municipal installations offering many types of different sports.
